Western Digital today released their latest My Book World Edition NAS servers. Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, this updated version offers easy installation and automatic continuous backup. It is also compatible with both PC and Mac platforms, and will utilize Western Digital’s green hard drive in order to reduce power consumption. The 1TB and 2TB versions will retail for $229.99 and $449.99, respectively.
Transcend India Spirit Drive
Transcend loves India. The company releases something special for its customers in India with a limited edition India Spirit USB flash drive. Weighing at only 2 grams, it is actually a modified version of Transcend’s ultra-compact JetFlash T5 USB flash drive. No word on pricing at this time.
Kingston 16GB microSDHC Card
Kingston has rolled out its latest microSDHC card that offers 16GB of storage capacity. According to Kingston, that is enough storage for more than 3,000 songs, over 9,000 images at 5-megapixel resolution and more than 16 hours of video. Pretty cool! The Kingston 16GB microSDHC card retails for $90.

Elecom today introduced its new USB Card reader for microSD cards and SDHC Cards (8GB Max). The MR-SMC03 Series weights at 3grams and measures only 16mm x 6.7mm x 22mm. The card reader is available in red black, white or pink.

LaCie has released the first 1U rack-mounted NAS that offers a huge 6TB of storage space. The new NAS is being targeted toward small and medium-sized businesses. The company also announced that the LaCie 6TB 1U is first Apple Time Machine-compatible professional NAS on the market and will be accompanied by both Genie and Intego Backup Manager Pro to schedule file backup and computer recovery. Available in 2TB, 4TB, and 6TB, the LaCie 6TB 1U is priced at $759.99 upwards with a 3-year warranty.
OCZ Vertex SSD Released
The 2.5 inch OCZ Vertex SATA II SSD has been released. The drive is available in capacities ranging from 30GB to 60GB, 120GB and 250GB. The device features 64MB of on board cache, 160MB/sec write speeds and 200MB/sec read speeds. The OCZ Vertex SSD is priced at $129 upwards all the way to $869 for the 250GB model.
