The screen utilities an adaptive backlight displays that offers optimum screen visibility for any condition. You are able to switch from Transmissive mode to Reflective on-the-fly.

NEC MultiSync P Series 22-Inch Widescreen Display

The new widescreen monitor offers a 1680×1050 resolution, 96% wide color gamut coverage of AdobeRGB, automatic brightness adjustment, 1000:1 typical contrast ratio, 16ms response time, XtraView+ 178-degree viewing angle, and four-way ergonomic stand. You can purchase this new widescreen display in December 2008 onwards for approx. $637. NEC will also release the optional NEC SpectraviewII kit for hardware color calibration in December this year with a customized sensor and software for wide gamut LCD displays for $375.

Acer Releases Two New LCD Displays

Acer comes back with a couple of new LCD displays in the form of the 21.5 inch H223HQbmid and the 24 inch H243Hbmid. Both models offer 1,920 x 1,080, HDMI port, and are able to be used as full HD displays for your entertainment needs. The 21.5 inch H223HQbmid and the 24 inch H243Hbmid are priced at €250 and €330, respectively. Not bad!

EIZO 24 Inch LCD with DisplayPort

EIZO comes back with a new 24 Inch LCD display with DisplayPort, so you can connect it to the new MacBook and MacBook Pro. Known as the ColorEdge CG242W, the LCD screen is able to cover up to 97% of the Adobe RGB spectrum, and features a WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200), a 178 degree view angle, a maximum brightness of 270cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1100:1. You can purchase this LCD screen in Japan in January 2009 for €1750.

LG W2442PA-BF LCD Monitor

LG has decided to release its W2442PA-BF 24 inch LCD monitor that comes jam packed with 300cd/m2 brightness level, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, Dynamic contraste feature, 2ms response time, 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios supported, 160 to 170 degrees viewing angle, 1 watt speakers, HDMI, DVI-D ports, and VGA port. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing or availability though. So stay tuned for more updates.

Westinghouse Releases LCD TV With DVD Player

The Westinghouse SK-32H570D is an LCD TV that comes with an integrated DVD player. The 32 inch LCD screen features two HDMI inputs, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 178 degrees viewing angle, 6.5ms response time, and 1,200:1 contrast ratio. Priced at $579, the SK-32H570D also supports ATSC/NTSC/ClearQAM tuner with HD programming, and 720p and 1080i resolutions.

Eizo FlexScan S2432W-H LCD With DisplayPort

24-inch LCD anyone?  Check this from Eizo dubbed the S2432W-H.  Complicated model number for a 1,000:1 WUXGA monitor with 360 cd/m2 brightness and 16ms response time, but it screams quality.  It’s got ambient light sensor so it can adjust brightness levels according to the amount of light in the room, and it’s HDCP compatible with DisplayPort.  $938 when it ships in Japan next month.
